To make a theme open an SZS file from the home menu:

Open SZS

no theme opened yet

Then open a 720p DDS image to inject:

Open image

no image opened yet

(Optional) Select a custom layout :

Don't patch

Warning: when changing layouts you should always use an SZS with the original layout (bg doesn't matter), if the layout in the SZS you uploaded has already been modified, either manually or with this tool, the new layout may behave incorrectly.

Finally press on Patch and save to make your theme.
Once you have the final szs or nxtheme you have to place it in the themes folder on your sd card, then download and run the new NXThemes Installer to install it.

.nxtheme files are a new file format for custom themes, they work pretty much like szs files but they are legal to share and work on every firmware.
To install nxtheme files you need to download NXThemes Installer on your console. and then follow a quick setup guide (don't worry, this is much easier than the old dumping guide, it will just take 5 minutes).

To create a theme select wich part of the menu you want to edit:

Select one Home menu Lock screen All apps menu Console settings News applet User page

Then open a 720p DDS image to inject:

Open image

no image opened yet

(Optional) Select a custom layout :

Don't patch

Enter a name for this theme:

Enter the author name:

Once you have your theme copy it in the themes folder on your sd card.
